HISTORIC STRUCTURES

This service may be used to locate and research historic buildings and sites in Boone County. The buildings and sites identified as Historic Buildings in the Boone County GIS have been recorded in the Kentucky Historic Resources Inventory, which has actively documented historic sites in Kentucky since the early 1970s. The Historic Structures layer consists mostly of buildings that were at least 50 years old when recorded, although the layer does include the ruins of some structures. Presence of a structure in this layer does not imply that the site has any particular historic registry status (for example, National Register of Historic Places).
